For generations, the Wegter family has been in the business of helping people celebrate and cherish the good things in life - precious moments of togetherness.
Frans Wegter opened a specialty homewares store in the small town of Delden in Twente, the Netherlands, in 1916. A respected and well-liked business man, Frans had an innate sense of what his customers would love. Business boomed, leading Frans to begin importing goods for other stores across the region to sell.
In the 50s, Frans’ son Nico further expanded Wegter to include wholesale and hospitality sales. Nico’s sons, Marc and Frans, continued to grow the business, splitting it into two enterprises in 2004.
Wegter Brands, now led by Marc’s son Guy, developsindependent labels, including Maastricht Porselein, Palmer, and Skottsberg, alongside manufacturing and distributing kitchenware goods.
Today, Frans’s grandsons and great grandchildren arejust as passionate about creating moments that bring people together.
Everyone at Wegter, from our CEO, Guy, to Flobér our Data guru, Nick and Saskia from the sales department, and Marc and Barbara from the e-commerce department, is proud of the fact that Wegter Brands does more and goes further than the average kitchenware supplier.
Guy and his team travel around the world to meet trusted factories and source the most attractive and innovative tableware. Wherever possible, we work with
our suppliers and production partners to evolve products that meet the needs of our customers.
Promising product lines are brought back to Oldenzaal where Peter, Head of Purchasing, subjects them to stringent testing - he knows that sometimes you literally have to break the mold to find something worth keeping.
Only products that meet our team's strict standards are shared with our customers and Aliejan our Supply Chain Manager, guarantees that a steady supply of replacements is never more than 24 hours away from delivery.
