Skottsberg® Carbon Steel
The durable and healthy alternative to the synthetic non-stick coating!

The Skottsberg Carbon Steel skillet has the look of a non-stick pan and is prized for a number of special features. The pan is pre-seasoned, that is; the pan has been fired 2 times with vegetable oil and reacts like a non-stick pan. In addition, the bottom of the pan has THE perfect thickness (2.5 mm) to prevent the bottom of the pan from warping on induction. The handle of the pan is hollow and does not absorb heat from the pan.

This skillet can withstand high temperatures and is therefore great for searing, baking and roasting vegetables, fish, meat, potatoes, pancakes or wraps and preparing a delicious paella or sandwich. This Carbon Steel frying pan heats up quickly and needs very little fat to prepare your dish. With this frying pan you put not only the tastiest but also healthy dishes on the table. The frying pan is strong, robust and indestructible and is suitable for any heat source. Cooking on induction and in the oven is no problem for this frying pan.

This Skottsberg Carbon Steel skillet has an industrial look, is durable, energy-saving and, when used properly, stands for a lifetime of cooking fun! This frying pan has a diameter of 24 cm.

How do you use this skillet?
To prevent food from sticking to the bottom, it is important to go through the following steps. Before you start baking, remove the ingredients from the refrigerator so that they can already come to room temperature. City the skillet on the heat source. Let the pan come to temperature slowly over low heat.

Do not add oil or butter until the pan is well heated. Let the butter melt until it no longer foams or the oil has become hot. Pat the food to be prepared dry as much as possible with kitchen roll. Let the ingredients that do stick slightly to the bottom cook gently, without trying to loosen them from the bottom. If necessary, turn down the stove a little and wait quietly for the food to loosen from the bottom.

Maintaining and cleaning your Carbon Steel skillet
After cooking, let the pan cool. Be sure not to rinse the hot pan directly under or in cold water. This can cause thermal shock, which can warp the pan. We strongly recommend washing the pan by hand and not putting it in the dishwasher! When the pan has cooled sufficiently clean it with warm water and a dishwashing brush or scratch-free scouring pad. Make sure the pan is thoroughly dry when you store it.
