Skottsberg® Wood Works

Our Skottsberg cutting board is made of FSC-certified European beech wood. This wood has the perfect hardness for cutting boards. This allows the board, when used properly, to last a lifetime and keep your knife sharp for longer. Contrary to popular belief, wooden cutting boards are more hygienic than plastic versions. This is partly because bacteria in wood are killed by the wood's natural tannins. Beech wood also contains an extremely high level of tannins. Because we treat our planks with Skottsberg Tung oil, all the pores of the wood are filled, giving bacteria, dirt and moisture no chance to penetrate. This ensures that the board is fully protected and waterproof. Skottsberg cutting boards are made from glued, end pieces of beech wood. The advantage of this cutting technique is that the wood fibers recover after each cut. One side of the cutting board has a juice channel with a reservoir and a small drain channel, ideal for collecting juices from meat, fish and vegetables. The other side is completely smooth and perfect for cutting drier ingredients. The sides of this Skottsberg cutting board feature milled handles for added convenience. The size of this cutting board is 48.5 x 30 x 4 cm.

Notice: This cutting board is not dishwasher safe.

About Skottsberg®
At Skottsberg , we believe that a pan is not a disposable item, but a friend with whom you will experience new adventures and enjoy life. We want your Skottsberg to suit you as much as your favorite worn-out sneakers. A Skottsberg is personal, a pan for what a pan is meant for: cooking your favorite dishes. Whether you use it over an open flame, in the oven or on a stove. And whether you're an expert or you're baking and roasting for the first time, there's a Skottsberg for every cook.

Carl Johan Skottsberg was a Swedish scientist with an untamed curiosity about the world around him. His expeditions to the farthest corners of the world, he could only make it with the best equipment. And that's what we want at Skottsberg : to provide you with pans so robust that it doesn't matter whether you go exploring the South Pole or on an expedition in your own kitchen. The pans from Skottsberg are suitable for any journey of discovery.
