Cristema was founded in 1993 by João da Silva Fertuzinhos in Guimarães, a region with a long tradition of metalworking. From its beginnings as a small-scale production company, Cristema grew into a specialized cutlery manufacturer with its own factory and an international market.

The collections are produced in Portugal and combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design and manufacturing techniques. Sustainability, material selection, and meticulous finishing are central to the brand’s philosophy.
