Let’s roll up our sleeves together at the regenerative farm ’t Gagel
Last Tuesday, a few of us spent the morning volunteering at the regenerative farm ’t Gagel in Lochem. It was a great opportunity to spend time outdoors while making a tangible contribution to a more sustainable approach to food production.
During the morning, we carried out various tasks in the garden. We helped clear out the beds, turn the compost, plant new seeds, and harvest carrots. By pitching in ourselves, we got a good sense of the work involved in regenerative agriculture and the importance of healthy soil.
In addition to the work, there was also an opportunity to experience the results firsthand. We were allowed to take the freshly harvested carrots home with us, which made the morning feel even more real.
We wrapped up the morning with a group lunch, provided by ’t Gagel and prepared with ingredients grown on their own farm. It was a fitting end to a rewarding morning centered on collaboration and outdoor activities.
